Often I hear devotees calling matajis as prabhus. Kindly shed some light on this. Thank you!

Personally, I call women prabhu. I am trying to free myself from the bodily concept of life, and when I meet a saintly Vaishnavi, I try to see her as the Lord’s eternal servant. We do not find any evidence in the Bhagavatam that men, as a general rule, called women “mother”. In any case, ‘mataji’ is a Hindi word.
