Question
What is the Vaishnava perspective on organ donation?
Answer

We cannot assume that for detailed, and at times conflicting moral issues, there is always a single Vedic position. For example, two pure devotees, Bhima and Draupadi, disagreed on what to do with Asvatthama. Krishna took the middle path, in effect honoring both views. Similarly, Bhima and Yudhisthira often disagreed on how to respond to the Kurus. Personally, I encourage devotees to search their own conscience on issues like this and do what feels right to them. Of course we all agree on basic moral principles, such as the four regulative principles.
