Dear Devotees,

Jaya Prabhupada! I am writing to inform you that yesterday I retired from the GBC body, mainly for health reasons. A recent medical exam revealed that in order to preserve my health, I must significantly reduce my level of stress. This arrangement by Krishna confirms what I already felt was Krishna’s desire — that I retire from internal ISKCON debates and management, and instead dedicate my life to writing books, and establishing preaching programs, that hopefully will attract people to Prabhupada’s mission.

Having served on the GBC for the last two years, I saw clearly that the GBC members are working sincerely to manage ISKCON, with a spirit of devotion to Prabhupada. It is the nature of management in this world that people, including devotees, will sometimes disagree. But we must faithfully follow Prabhupada’s system and work together for his pleasure and the welfare of the world.

I am very happy and enthusiastic to dedicate myself to those duties that Lord Krishna has kindly given me. I pray that he empower all of us to act as His instruments to reveal His glory, and the glory of His pure devotee Prabhupada, to a suffering world.

Queridos Devotos do Brasil,

Jaya Prabhupada! Recentemente, recebi os rsultados de um exame médico que mostra que a essa altura da minha vida, preciso me retirar de atividades estressantes, tais como administração e debates entre devotos. Com mais entusiasmo que nunca, vou me dedicar a escrever, e a fazer tudo que posso para ajudar a levantar a missão ocidental de Prabhupada.

Para mim, foi uma prazer e uma honra servir como GBC do Brasil. Pedi ao GBC que eles aceitem Sua Santidade Dhanvantari Swami como GBC do Brasil. Lhe disse a Dhanvantari Swami que o ajudarei sempre na forma que ele achar mais útil.

Quero enfatizar que enquanto eu estiver neste mundo, terei sempre um relacionamento especial com os devotos da ISKCON do Brasil. Confio muito nos devotos do Brasil, no CGB que tem atuado em forma exemplar, e em Dhanvantari Swami. Sem dúvida, todos vamos para frente, juntos.
