In the Gita 9.4-6 Krishna says He is present but also not present in all things. Krishna is eternally unaffected by the gunas. The actual energy of the gunas is Krishna’s energy, but that energy does not affect Him. He simply manifests it to respect the freedom of others souls, their freedom to choose what they want, learn the hard way if they so choose, and eventually use their free will to return back to Godhead. -H.D.Goswami

Karma may not instantly teach one sensitivity. A violent person may become a victim of violence, which may lead to a cycle. This cycle may be part of the learning process. But even this cycle does not go on forever, for endless lives. The suffering is apportioned in such a way that gradually the person learns. -H.D.Goswami

The simple point here is that “vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah”, “By all the Vedas, I alone am to be known.” Bg 15.15
In that sense the ultimate meaning of every Vedic mantra, regardless of the external grammar, is that we are eternal servants of Krishna. That Krishna is everything, and that we belong to Krishna, is the ultimate or esoteric meaning of all knowledge.
However, for scholarly purposes we have to look at what words literally mean. -H.D.Goswami

It is very well known that in the Sanskrit literature, many different personalities are, at various times, glorified as equal to the supreme, or the supreme themself. This includes many demigods, Lord Shiva, and various other personalities.
These verses are not understood to be serious theological statements, but rather a way to see that ultimately Krishna is everything, in the sense that everything emanates from Him. So, while we understand these verses, it is entirely appropriate and necessary to affirm Krishna-monotheism, which Krishna Himself does very strongly in Bhagavad-gita. -H.D.Goswami
