IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF OUR GODBROTHER, BHARATA DASA. BELOW IS A LETTER WRITEN BY ACHARYADEVA ON BHARATA’S BEHALF, ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL LETTERS WRITTEN BY GODFAMILY.
Please accept my blessings. Jaya Srila Prabhupada.
I am sorry to inform you that a very dear disciple of mine, Bharata Dasa from Chicago, has left his body. Bharata Dasa often helped me in various ways with great sincerity and devotion.
Let us all meditate in Lord Krishna’s unlimited mercy on His devotees. All of us will leave this world, and at our moment of departure, only our sincere service to Krishna and His devotees will guarantee our bright future in Krishna consciousness. I offer my condolences to all the family and friends of Bharata Dasa.
With best wishes,
Hridayananda das Goswami

“Bharata was always very enthusiastic to serve the devotees and Srila Acharyadeva. I very much appreciated his kindness and honest humility. He will be missed by all the devotees when we meet again as a group. I am sure because of his devotional service and love for his spiritual master Krishna will protect and guide him on to his next destination.”

“Our dear Godbrother His Grace Bharata Dasa was a very kind and gentle soul! Having his association was such a blessing to me whenever I travelled to or through Chicago by train. He was always willing to help with whatever needs I may have had! He always spoke about what a pleasure it was to be Srila Acharyadeva’s servant. He loved kirtan and was active in spreading the message of Srila Prabhupada through the Spanish speaking community of Chicago! I’ll now always remember our last conversation at the Chicago Temple this past July as he was getting ready to return to his home in Equador to visit his sick father. I shall miss his smiling face, the sound of his laugh, the rest of my days, but mostly I’ll miss his Vaisnava attitude to being an ocean of mercy to this VERY wretched soul. My heart is broken…”

“I always admired Bharata’s love and desire to serve Srila Acharyadeva. He had so much love for him. Bharata would also encourage me in my service to Srila Acharyadeva. He would always ask me about Srila Acharyadeva, always wishful to be able to take time off to spend time with him and serve him personally. He got the fortune to serve Srila Acharyadeva personally for several weeks in 2007 and that is when I met Bharata, fully absorbed in his service to Srila Acharyadeva. He inspired me in my decision to get initiated and showed me and explained to me the meaning of Srila Acharyadeva’s pranam mantra. He was a very kind loving godbrother to us all. I am sure Krishna is taking care of him and his family in this trying time. He will be very much missed by all of us who had the fortune to meet such a humble, loving and dedicated soul.”
